How to get to Vác?
The city can be accessed very simply from the direction of the capital, on route no. 2 and highway no. 2/A, and by train or bus it takes about half an hour to get to this city situated on the bank of the Danube.

It is here that we find one of the most beautiful baroque squares in Hungary, March 15 square, where each house is protected as cultural heritage. The Memento Mori exhibition of the crypt of the Dominican Church is unique in Europe. Under the special climatic conditions the corpses in the coffin mummified naturally, the 18th century coffins, dresses and burial accessories were preserved in a surprisingly intact state. In Vác you can take a walk on the one single baroque bridge of the country decorated with statues and see the only arch of triumph in Hungary. It was built to celebrate the visit of Empress Maria Theresa. And once you are in Vác, you should also visit Vácrátót. This locality is a favourite destination of visitors interested in nature and plants, in its botanic garden of 29 hectares there is a huge number of specimens of the flora of the world - in a properly maintained environment with a microclimate - with a total of over 13 thousand different plant species.

The series of programs titled City Hall nights is also popular, in the backyard of City Hall evening concerts and theatrical performances are held.
