How to get there?
Szombathely is crossed by several important roads even today. The roads 86, 87 and 89 provide access to the main road network of the country. The M1 motorway can be reached on the road 86 and on the main road 85 through Csorna, at the junction in Győr. Szombathely has the biggest railway junction in the western part of Trans-Danubia. The town “collects” the lines from Budapest, Győrből, Bratislava and Sopron, and “restarts” the trains towards Graz, Nagykanizsa, and Zagreb.

The visitor of Szombathely should not miss the Savaria Museum where he/she can see the mementos of the ancient Romanian town called Savaria (park with ancient ruins, mosaics, Mercurius–tabernacle), too.
