How to get there?
In its capacity of the center of the southern part of the Trans-Danubian region and the seat of Baranya county, Pécs is the collection point of national and provincial road networks. It is interlinked with Budapest by the main road 6, which is at the same time the primary east-west axle of the town. Pécs is reached by further thee secondary main roads – the road 57 runs between Pécs and Mohács, the one No. 58 between Pécs and Drávaszabolcs while the road 66 interlinks the town with Kaposvár. Pécs is the terminus of the electric railway line 40 between Budapest and Pécs. The connection with the capital is provided by InterCity trains.

Pécs is the public administrational and intellectual center of the southern part of the Trans-Danubian region. The cultural life of the town is outstanding as far as music and the field of fine art are concerned. Its collections – Modern Hungarian Gallery, “Csontváry” Museum, “Martyn Ferenc” Museum, “Victor Vasarely” Museum, “Amerigo Tot” Museum, “Schaár Erzsébet Street” as well as the municipal and private galleries offer a unique selection of the Hungarian works of art of the 20th century.
